EASY RIDER 1969

The original title of the film was "The Loners"
Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, and Jack
Nicholson were actually smoking marijuana
on camera. LSD, however, was not actually
used during the acid scene, as Fonda has stated.
During Jack Nicholson's "UFO" speech, Dennis
Hopper was intent on getting him very stoned on
marijuana. The laughing that eventually broke up
his speech was not planned, and when Nicholson
repeats the line "it . . . it . . .
would be devastating . . . " it was the next take.
Captain America's (Peter Fonda's) chopper
was so "squirrely" to ride that at one point
Jack Nicholson (who was on the back) squeezed
his knees on Fonda's side to balance himself
and broke one of Fonda's ribs.

FRANKLIN Harley-Davidson [B11XN65]
Capitan America
FRANKLIN MINT Harley-Davidson [B11WL73]

Both the Captain America bike and the Billy Bike
were designed and built by an African-American
bike builder named Ben Hardy.
It was one of the first films to make extensive
use of previously released musical tracks
rather than a specially written film score.
This is common with films now but was
quite unusual at the time.

Few days before my First Holy Communion my

Aldous Huxley 1894–1963

"Aldous Huxley, perhaps best known for his
work “Brave New World,” was one of the
most vocal advocates for LSD implementation.
On his deathbed Huxley was unable to speak
and simply wrote, “LSD, 100 µg, intramuscular”
on a piece of paper and handed it to his wife.
She obliged his last wish and injected him the
drug several moments later."
"Experience is not what happens to you.
It is what you do with what happens to you."
“The secret of genius is to carry the spirit of
the child into old age, which means never
losing your enthusiasm.”
“Every man's memory is his private literature.”
"An intellectual is a person who's found one thing
that's more interesting than sex."
- ALDOUS HUXLEY

Made in Poland: Dżem

Kiedy byłem mały, zawsze chciałem dojść
na koniec świata
kiedy byłem mały...
Pytałem gdzie i czy
w ogóle kończy się ten świat

Dżem is a Polish blues-rock band
The band's original name was "Jam" but before
one of their concerts a woman made a mistake
when she wrote their name, writing "Dżem".
The band's name comes from English word jam
(session) which has the same pronunciation
as the Polish word "dżem", which means "jam"
in the sense of a fruit preserve.
RIP Ryszard Riedel
September 7, 1956 - July 30, 1994
Lead singer of the "Dżem", one of the most
charismatic artists in the history of Polish rock.
He is considered one of the most influential Polish
vocalist ever, and has been known to influence
artists today with his rough stage presence.
Riedel's direct cause of death was cardiac
insufficiency due to long time opiate drugs
abuse (especially 'compote', the Polish heroin).

Happy 100th birthday, Charles Addams

Charles "Chas" Samuel Addams
January 7, 1912 – September 29, 1988
American cartoonist known for his
particularly black humor and macabre characters.
Some of the recurring characters, who became
known as The Addams Family,
became the basis for two live-action
television series,
two animated TV series,
three motion pictures,
and a Broadway musical...
"Ghoulish, macabre, demonic, depraved, bizarre,
and weird have all been used to describe his work
and the characters therein."
In September 1988, when he died of a heart attack
inside his parked car, his third wife Marilyn
(whom he had married in a pet cemetery) made
a remark that could have been a caption for one
of his cartoons: "He's always been a car buff, so it
was a nice way to go,"
she told The New York Times.

BRANDON NOVAK

"You may know Brandon Novak as
Bam’s friend, the guy whose dick is always
hanging out, licked asshole on the
Howard Stern Show, tried to fuck his mother
and wrote the book Dreamseller."
"When Novak was 14, he was a professional
skateboarder on the Powell Peralta Team,
but lost his spot due to what he says was
a long bout with "psychoactive substance
abuse". Novak has admitted to being
a former heroin user and was clean for
almost four years from 2003 to 2007."

FATHER OF LSD

R.I.P Albert Hofmann
11 January 1906 – 29 April 2008
He was the Swiss chemist who accidentally
invented LSD and then tested it on himself
in the first human LSD trial.
Bicycle Day is April 19, commemorating
April 19, 1943, when Dr. Albert Hofmann
first took LSD intentionally.
Three days earlier, he had absorbed
a small amount of the drug either through
his fingertips or by accidentally ingesting it.
On Bicycle Day, he took 250 µg of LSD
intentionally and, fearing he had made
himself ill, cycled home from his lab. During
his bicycle ride, he experienced the effects
of LSD, making this the date of the first ever
acid trip. He wrote about his experiments and
experience on April 22, which was later put
into his book LSD: My Problem Child. (1980)
Why "My Problem Child"?
He strongly believes LSD can be
a beneficial way for one to get to know
oneself and experience other worlds, but
only if the user is mentally and physically
prepared for the journey. Kids in the 60s
getting drunk and dropping ten hits gave
the drug a bad name, to say the least...
"I think that in human evolution it has never
been as necessary to have this substance
LSD... It is just a tool to turn us into what we
are supposed to be."
Albert Hofmann died of natural causes on April
29, 2008 in the village of Burg im Leimental,
near Basel, Switzerland. He was 102 years old.
